Waste Reception and Handling Plan adopted at BSP "Bulport Logistics" – Varna
A Waste Reception and Handling Plan for the Specialised Port Facility “Bulport Logistics” was prepared and approved in March 2026. The document was endorsed by the company’s Executive Director and accepted by the Executive Agency 'Maritime Administration' in Varna.
The port is located in the southern industrial zone of Varna and borders the protected water area of Bulyard Port and the Port of Varna – East. The facility is classified as a specialised port under Article 109 of the Law on Maritime Spaces, Inland Waterways and Ports of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Access to the port is provided via junctions from both sides of the Asparuhov Bridge, which forms part of the main road between Varna and Burgas.
The plan regulates the organisation of the reception, collection and treatment of waste generated by port operations. The plan's main objective is to ensure efficient waste management while maintaining full compliance with applicable regulations. Implementing the plan enhances environmental control and contributes to protecting the marine and coastal environment.
According to the established system, the Head of BSP 'Bulport' is responsible for implementing the plan and coordinating all waste management activities within the port area.
